About Us
Mark Watson Architects is based in Putney, South West London. Founded by RIBA Chartered Member Architect, Mark Watson BArch(Hons) Dip Arch ARB RIBA, in 2012 (incorporated in 2017) we have undertaken over 100 projects in London, Surrey and a number of projects further afield.
Whilst we specialise in residential architecture, the practice has also undertaken a variety of office refurbishment and hospitality schemes. We don’t consider these to be characteristically commercial projects as by nature our work is focused on providing design led, high quality, individual and client responsive environments.
What we have done and what we will do is important to us. Our ethos is motivated by ensuring Mark Watson Architects continues to add to its extensive experience in residential design so that we can provide the best possible service to our clients.
Mark Watson

Director
Mark became an RIBA Chartered Member in 2010 and has worked at some of the UK’s largest architectural practices prior to joining Concept Eight Architects Ltd where latterly he held the position of Director. Mark has experience in the Education, Retail, Hospitality, Interior Design and Aviation sectors and over 9 years’ experience working on Residential projects ranging from new build homes to residential refurbishments and multi-unit apartment schemes.
With an enthusiasm for design and innovation evident throughout his career, Mark’s other passion for detail, effective process and quality service led him to create MWA in 2012 and incorporate as Mark Watson Architects Ltd in 2017. Mark believes strongly in the transformative role great architecture can play in everyone’s lives. No matter how big or small your own project may be, everyone can benefit from defining their own environment.
Mark lives in Putney, South West London and is Treasurer of Fulham Compton Football Club and a member of Coombe Wood Golf Club.
Scott Mason
MSc Const.Mgmt.BSc (Hons) Interior Design
Technical Director
Scott is an experienced Technical Design Director with over 20 years’ experience working for numerous International Design Practices. He is a highly skilled design professional with extensive experience in Feasibility, Design Management, Construction, Onsite Administration and Sustainable Design.
Scott has worked in several sectors including Aviation, Retail, Healthcare, MOD, Interior Design and Homeowner and Commercial Residential architecture. He provides a can-do attitude and a well trained eye for detail to our projects and is committed to achieving optimal design solutions via coordination and collaboration.
Scott has Program and Project/ Design Management accreditations with an MA in Construction Management, BSc (Hons) in Interior Design and a BA in Interior Architecture from Edinburgh Napier University. With a wide ranging set of skills, Scott is well placed to provide clients with guidance through all RIBA Work Stages and the multi-faceted elements of the most complex residential design projects.
Away from the office, Scott is a keen cyclist and is frequently found on his bike at the weekend.
RIBA Chartered Practice
The Chartered Practice scheme is run by the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) in order to set the highest level of professional standards.
Being a RIBA Chartered Practice shows clients, employees and the built environment sector that Mark Watson Architects is committed to excellence in best practice, professional and ethical standards.
RIBA Chartered Practice accreditation requires that Mark Watson Architects maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance and have suitable Health and Safety and Environmental Management policies in place. We also maintain a continual programme of professional development to ensure all members of the Mark Watson Architects team are aware of the latest updates in applicable legislation and industry standards.
